How we set our prices and what you pay for
A better product at a better price
Because we, as a clothing manufacturer, deliver our clothes directly to you , rather than expensive retailers with warehouses and physical stores, we can sell clothes of higher quality and lower climate footprint at a better price than clothes you find in traditional stores that resell clothes from several different brands .
The manufacture and sale of clothing takes place in several stages. One company produces textile fibers that another company spins into yarn. The yarn is sold on to companies that manufacture fabrics, which in turn are sold to companies that manufacture clothing, etc.
A rule of thumb is that the prices are doubled at each level to cover the companies' costs for personnel, machines, premises, etc. and finally also to be able to generate a profit.
If the clothes are sold at the last stage via retailers, the price is also doubled here. By skipping the last store step, we can sell a better product at a better price.
A more transparent pricing
You should know what you are paying for so that you can better understand the value of the clothes you are buying. We are therefore following the example of other innovative brands that have introduced more transparent pricing. We think this is the new normal and we encourage other brands to do the same.
In our webshop, we therefore report how our prices are calculated for each product and also make an estimated comparison with how much you would have to pay if the product was sold through a retailer.
What is included in the cost of our garments?
Roughly broken down, the costs of a garment from Henmark consist of materials, labor and shipping from our suppliers as well as shipping to you as a customer. Of course, our prices must cover these direct costs and also other costs in the company such as product development, stock, personnel, IT, premises, insurance etc. and finally also generate a profit.
