Estimated retail price - M Merino Tencel T
The manufacturing and sale of clothing occur in several stages, and of course, the price increases at each stage. If we, as a clothing brand, sell larger quantities of clothing to traditional retailers, who in turn are responsible for selling to you as the end customer, the price will naturally also increase here. We sell our clothing online in our webshop or through other digital marketplaces and always deliver directly to you without intermediaries.
By skipping the final retail stage, we can offer clothing of higher quality and with a lower climate footprint at a better price. Often, the price at Henmark is 30-50% lower than for a comparable product sold in traditional stores.
Below are two tables showing the estimated traditional retail price and the calculation of the price when you buy directly from Henmark.
Estimated price in traditional retail stores
| Materials and manufacturing | SEK 245 |
| Shipping and fees | SEK 10 |
| Cost of finished product | SEK 255 |
| Price markup from Henmark to store* | SEK 255 |
| Estimated store markup | SEK 340 |
| VAT | SEK 213 |
| Estimated price to you in traditional retail stores | SEK 1063 |
Price directly from Henmark
| Materials and manufacturing | SEK 245 |
| Shipping and fees | SEK 10 |
| Cost of finished product | SEK 255 |
| Price markup from Henmark to you as customer* | SEK 305 |
| Price excl. VAT | SEK 560 |
| VAT | SEK 140 |
| Price to you directly from Henmark | SEK 700 |
*As you can see, we have a higher markup when we sell directly to you compared to if we were to sell larger quantities of clothing to traditional stores, which in turn are responsible for selling to the end customer. This is because we take over the responsibility and costs from the store for various functions required for sales to the end consumer, e.g., warehouse logistics, home delivery, exchanges, returns, and staff for administration and customer support. The final price for you as a customer is still significantly lower compared to prices in traditional stores.
